About John Wadsworth
Hello. My name is John Wadsworth. I am the founder of the Kairos School of Astrology, and its primary teacher. My approach is borne out of 35 years of professional practice and I take an embodied, psycho-spiritual approach to astrology. My astrological journey began in 1990 when I experienced a profound epiphany under a night sky in southern Spain. I had a mystical encounter with the moon and stars, during which I received a deep understanding that what was turning in the heavens, was also turning in me. The experience completely changed the course of my life, and I have been dedicated to the study and practice of astrology ever since.
I have worked with thousands of clients since that time offering guidance and counsel. I have been teaching astrology since 2001, and I set up the Kairos School of Astrology In 2010 in Glastonbury.
I am the author of two books: Your Zodiac Soul (2018), and The Planetary Dialogues, co-authored with Andreea Bradu (2026). Your Zodiac Soul is an experiential journey of self-enquiry through the zodiac, which I have termed ‘The Twelve Gateways to Wholeness’. The Planetary Dialogues is a work of astrological theatre, a series of dialogues between the archetypal planet characters, written in rhyming verse.
I’m a great champion of ethical standards in astrological practice, and build this into the courses I teach. I now run the Foundation and Diploma courses online, with an optional APAI-accredited pathway for Diploma students. I am also a pilgrimage guide, and have been leading sacred walks in the Glastonbury landscape zodiac since 2012.

Embodied Astrology and Astrodrama
I draw from a deep well of psychological and philosophical study, and I am deeply versed in mythology, Jungian archetypes, and James Hillman’s archetypal psychology.
I am known in the field as a pioneer of experiential astrological education, including astrological theatre and astrodrama. I am the founder of The Alchemical Journey, a twelve-month zodiac mystery school pilgrimage, originally based around The Glastonbury Zodiac. My book, Your Zodiac Soul is drawn from this work with the zodiac as a medicine wheel, as twelve gateways to wholeness.
I hold an MA in Cultural Astronomy & Astrology from Bath Spa University (UK), and for my 2005 thesis I produced a seminal work on astrodrama, the first ever academic treatment of the subject, in which I coined the term “Embodied Astrology”. My thesis was entitled: “Towards an Embodied Astrology: Embodiment as a Paradigm for Astrological Practice”, and in it I present an epistemological framework for astrology as a form of healing theatre.
My Work as an Astrologer
As an astrological consultant, I help people to gain a better understanding of themselves, their relationships, and their path in life, through investigating the intricacies of their natal birth chart.
I am fascinated by how we learn, and I consider astrological knowledge to be a vital aspect of a well-rounded education, as it always used to be in days of old. It can empower our choices in life. It can help us to become aware of the patterns and pitfalls that can trip us up along the way. And it can help us to express more of our potential as human beings, within the context of a greater-than-human cosmos.
Throughout all of my work, my aim is to help awaken passion, purpose and creative inspiration. I consider these to be at the heart of what it is to live an empowered life and what it is to be truly alive. I would say that my primary commitment as an astrologer is to help people re-align to their deepest truth and help them develop the confidence to live from that.
