New Moon in Gemini Today
Dear Friends
We have a new moon in Gemini today, 15th June. It was exact this morning at 3.53am. This new moon carries the seed energy of our intentions articulated in language, so we should be especially mindful of the thought seeds we are scattering to the winds at this time. If they find fertile ground and are robust enough to germinate, then they may take root and come to define our experience of reality.
As the medicine of perception, Gemini reminds us that it is not ultimately the circumstances of our lives that determine our experience, but rather our perspective upon them, and the stories we tell about them. Perhaps we can seize this moment to look at life in a different way, be open to a more diverse range of perspectives, find a different or a better story to tell, notice where we might get trapped in a particular prejudice or perspective. We can use our words creatively and imaginatively to inspire new possibilities and perspectives.
Courses & Retreats for 2026:
I am running an experiential weekend workshop on The Moon’s Nodes in Jersey (Channel Islands), from 3rd-5th July: “The Moon’s Nodes: The Path of the Dragon” - there are three places left on this workshop.
I am taking enrolments now also for my Foundation Course in Astrology which starts on Tues 13th Oct 2026. This comprehensive astrology programme will give you all the foundational skills you need to understand the language of astrology and interpret a birth chart. It is delivery in a lively, fun way, and the learning is centred around a study of your own birth chart. The best way to understand astrology is always to apply it to yourself first!
I am currently taking enrolments for my Diploma Course in Astrological Studies. It will run over nine months, starting on 10th October 2026. This is a professional training for those who have taken my foundation course (or equivalent training from another school), and is accredited by the Association of Professional Astrologers (APAI).
I am also taking applications for my Twelve Sacred Wounds Retreat in Sweden: 1st - 4th October 2026. This is a deep journey in the Medicine Wheel of the Zodiac, where you will encounter the wound signatures that lie at the core of each zodiac sign. We will experience them through embodied, experiential practices, incorporating mask, music, dance and guided visualisation, and you will learn their specific gestures and movements. John will bring his set of beautiful and powerful zodiac masks to help us experience the medicine of each sign, together with its healing mantra.
Mercury, Gemini’s ruler, blesses us with the art of rhetoric, and as much as the tricksy power-seeking politician will use that to influence our opinions, and manipulate our allegiances, so will the poet employ the art to illuminate an unseen dimension of reality, and a mythologist to re-awaken the sleeping parts of the psyche. Mercury is in Cancer at the moment, the sensitive water sign that tugs at the soul and reminds us our origins, so our communications also need to connect us to our emotional intelligence, to something deeper that honours the journey we have taken to get to this point. Mercury is approaching a conjunction with Jupiter which could expand our thinking and help bring forth visionary ideas and projects.
We are in the midst of an electrically-charged, potentially disruptive time, with Uranus in Gemini positioned in exact square to the nodal axis. We are being shaken out of our complacency and confronted with a pace of change that might well seem alien to our natural rhythm - it can feel unsettling, but something is breaking through in the collective at this time, that we are feeling in our way, that is necessary for our growth and evolution. This is especially true for those of us that have Sun, Moon, Ascendant, mid-heaven, or personal planets in the early degrees of Gemini or the other mutable signs (Virgo, Sagittarius or Pisces).
As we enter through this Geminian portal, let our ideas be touched by a glint of magic, and let us engage with language that inspires and evokes the highest possibilities for peace and understanding. May we be blessed with eloquence, and choose our words well.
