The Zodiac is the medicine wheel of the western mystery tradition.  It is an ancient emblem of the soul, hard-wired into our collective imagination, and its twelve signs point us toward the sacred wounds of the soul. 

In this retreat, you will take a deep journey in the Medicine Wheel of the Zodiac, and encounter the wound signatures that lie at the core of each zodiac sign. We will experience them through embodied, experiential practices, incorporating mask, music, dance and guided visualisation, and you will learn their specific gestures and movements.  John will bring his set of beautiful and powerful zodiac masks to help us experience the medicine of each sign, together with its healing mantra. 

Through this shamanic approach to astrology, guided by the wounded-healer archetype, Chiron, you will discover twelve essential keys that can transform your perspective, open up your imagination, and help guide you on your healing journey.  As a participant you will be offered the chance to work with your own birth chart, to explore your specific wound signature, and discover your own unique medicine path. 

About John

John has been practising as a professional astrologer since 1992.  He is the founder of the Kairos School of Astrology, established in 2010 and accredited by the Association of Professional Astrologers International (APAI).  He is a published author: his book, Your Zodiac Soul: Twelve Gateways to Wholeness is a best seller - and he is one of the pioneers of experiential astrology, and astrological theatre.  John lives in Glastonbury in the UK.

About the Venue

Nyhyttans Kurort is located just outside Nora, Sweden.  Set in the heart of Bergslagen’s beautiful landscape it is surrounded by unspoiled nature and deep forests right outside the door. The area offers excellent opportunities for swimming,  hiking, and cycling. Four marked trails start directly from the property, ranging from 6 to 15 km. These scenic, hilly routes alternate between gravel roads and narrow singletrack paths, making them ideal for both hikers and cyclists seeking varied terrain and stunning natural surroundings.

The hotel features comfortable single and double accommodation-  all rooms have their own toilet and shower.

Guests can unwind in the sauna, relax on the sun terrace, or enjoy the garden and surrounding greenery. Additional amenities include a welcoming lounge, outdoor seating areas, and pleasant picnic spots—perfect for enjoying the fresh forest air.
