Crossing The Equinox Threshold
Hi Everyone
I woke this morning after a two-day, 26 mile pilgrimage of the Milky Way route across the Glastonbury Zodiac - a few aches here and there - but deeply nourished in my soul from such a meaningful journey. Our merry band of pilgrims arrived at our destination yesterday evening, weary but buoyant after our long walk, in synchrony with the solar eclipse, having journeyed through the cosmic gateways and called in the energies of the seven planetary oracle sites along the route. It all felt very timely, and as we now cross the equinox theshold today, it leaves us all with much to reflect upon!

Yesterday’s Solar Eclipse
Yesterday’s new moon solar eclipse fell in the final degree of Virgo, the second consecutive new moon in Virgo, the last one having also been in this sign, in the first degree. So we are really having a double dose of Virgo medicine this year, another invitation to look at the way we honour our bodily rhythms, our rituals and routines, and the everyday details of life. Yesterday’s new moon was also opposed to Saturn, the taskmaster who insists that we face up to our responsibilities and be accountable for our actions.
A strong time indeed, this, and with the intensity of the eclipse, and the fact the Sun and Moon have aligned in the final ‘anaretic’ degree of Virgo, it can feel as though there is an urgency to really get our affairs in order. But again the deeper medicine of Virgo is to remain mindful, attentive and vigilant, without being hyper-vigilant. We need to exercise an element of control with Virgo, but we also need to differentiate what we can control from what we can’t: to accept that things are as they are in our lives right now, and that the best we can do is to meet whatever we are facing in the most authentic way possible. We should rtemember that the situations and circumstances that confront us now, however difficult or challenging, are there for our soul’s evolution. We are not victims of those circumstances, nor are we to blame for them. Rather, we are actively participant in their unfolding, they provide the context we need right now to become conscious of who we are: they are the grist to the grinding mill that is always turning within us; that is the work of our soul-making.
Welcome Libra!
Today the Sun enters Libra at the moment of the Autumn Equinox, a moment of poise in the year, as light and dark are equalised across the planet and everything is reset, as we enter the second half of the astrological year. As the leaves turn and begin to fall, and the exquisite colours of the Autumn enchant us with their beauty, so our attention naturally turns toward more aesthetic, artistic pursuits and sensitivies. Libra sensitises us to beauty, balance, harmony and proportion. It encourages us to take a breath, to pause, to reflect, to become open to relationship, to allow ourselves to be seen through the eyes of another, and learn to see through through another’s eyes.
Many blessings of the season to all.
Much love
John
