A Glastonbury Zodiac Pilgrimage for Peace

For the Grand Sextile Alignment on 3 August 2025

Led by Astrologer & Pilgrim Guide John Wadsworth

Fee for Event: Donation (suggested: £20 - £30)

Date / Time: Sunday 3rd August . Meet at 12 noon

On 3rd August 2025, we have a remarkable and rare planetary alignment called a Grand Sextile, compromised of two interlocking grand trine aspect paterns, which form a six-pointed star alignment (with seven planets involved - see astrological chart below). To mark this occasion, I am leading a Pilgrimage for Peace in the Glastonbury Zodiac, from the tail of the Leo figure at Kingweston, through the dove of Libra at Barton St David, concluding at the so called ‘Enclosure of the Sun’ at Butleigh. As part of the walk we will visit, and honour, an ancient spring on the Dove’s wing.

We will begin and end the pilgrimage by walking two triangular patterns that Katharine Maltwood identified in the Glastonbury - the first marking the tail of Leo, and the second demarcating what Katharine called ‘the encolsure of the Sun’, a mystical feature of the landscape temple, from three rays of light emanate and bathe the divine child (the Gemini figure at Compton Dundon) in light. These two triangular patterns, remakably, mirror the two grand trine alignments in the sky on 3rd August, while between them lies the dove of peace, which Katharine Maltwood first identified in her ‘Temple of the Stars’, and Mary Caine later identified as Libra in her rendering of the Glastonbury Zodiac.

We will meet at 2pm on 3rd August, and I will introduce the day with a short talk, and then we will walk for around 2-3 hours, before gathering in the early evening in Butleigh for an evening meal around the campfire. We will be walking on higher ground, which affords spectacular views of Glastonbury Tor for most of the route.

Places are limited so it is important that you book your place, and we are asking for a donation, so that we can host and arrange for catering for an evening meal around the fire.

"John's wisdom and poetic mastery is such a gift to witness and experience. He is impeccable with his gifts, connected to the entire group, and shows up with his full heart. Walking the zodiac through the landscape is one of the most sacred gifts - to feel and receive the land speaking celestial truths is quite profound.  Everyone walks away with a greater connection to self, Gaia, and the Cosmos."
