The Astro*Carto*Graphy of a Spiritual Pilgrim

The Camino pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela in Northern Spain is something very close to my heart. I walked the 780km route myself in 2012, and it had a very profound effect on me. Shirley Maclaine’s book about her experience was an influential part of me deciding to undertake this intense 5-week journey. So I was thrilled the other day, when doing some research for my upcoming course on “AstroCartoGraphy & Relocation Astrology” to discover how beautifully resonant Shirley Maclaine’s astrocartography map is with that part of the world, and with her experience of walking the Camino.

When we look at her natal chart in context of her spiritual life, her Moon-Neptune conjunction in Virgo in the 12th house really stands out. In her astrocartography map, we can see where in the world this conjunction would have been culminating at the Mid-Heaven at the moment of her birth.

Lo-and-behold, the Moon culminated exactly in Santiago de Compostela, and Neptune at a halfway point along the route! The Mid-Heaven is where our vocation or calling is realised, so for Shirley Maclaine the longing of her twelfth house moon becomes fully realised at the place where the Moon culminates. It is such a beautiful example of astro*carto*graphy at work.

I’ll be sharing more examples like this in my forthcoming 3-week course: “Relocation Astrology & Astro*Carto*Graphy”, which starts on 7th March, and runs for three consecutive Tuesdays (6pm - 7.45pm UK time) through to 21st March. And you will have a chance to work with your own A*C*G map and find out where in the world latent aspects of your own character and calling can be realised.
